4 Ways to Revamp Your Skincare routine as we move from Summer to Autumn.

It’s no news that seasonal changes have telltale signs on the skin. When the weather switches from summer to autumn, i.e. from hot, humid months to a dry, colder period, your skin may react. It’s not uncommon for your skin to become itchy, dry, and flaky. Also, dead skin cells may accumulate, clogging up your pores giving your skin a lacklustre appearance.

The solution is tweaking your skincare routine to fit the climatic switch. As with changing your wardrobe to suit the weather demands, swapping a few products out will make it easier for your skin to cope with the atmospheric conditions. But don’t be completely overwhelmed! It’s not a full overhaul. All you need is a little modification here and there to keep your skin healthy all year round.

Settle for facial oils or serums

The heat that comes with summer increases oiliness in your skin, but the reverse is the case for autumn. The frostiness of autumn may dry out and irritate your skin. At this time, you’ll need to rev up your skin’s moisture and oil levels. We recommend our wonder-working protective face oil which is loaded with essential fatty acids and skin-loving vitamins for nourishing and hydrating your skin. And as an added bonus it contains signature ingredient red raspberry seed oil for its natural antioxidants and SPF protection.

Choose a moisturizing cleanser

To prevent your skin from further dryness during the autumn season, choose a cleanser that will not strip your skin of oils. If you stocked up on an oil-control cleanser during the summer months, it should take the back seat on your beauty shelf now that the temperature is dipping.

We suggest you maintain your skin with a cleanser that won’t dry out your skin such as our {SIMPLE as that} cleanser. The gentle formulation contains key ingredient glycerine to ensure your skin is left bursting with moisture.

Use a Thick Lotion

Your favorite lightweight moisturizer for summer may not meet your skin’s hydration needs when the temperature falls. Using a thick moisturizer will ensure that your skin stays moisturized and plump. We recommend our {SIMPLE as that} moisturizer formulated with shea butter and coconut oil for this purpose. A rule of thumb is to use your moisturizer after you wash your skin when it’s still damp for maximum results.

Stay faithful to sunscreen

The weather may not be scorching in autumn like summer, but it’s crucial to continue using your sunscreen. The UV rays of the sun still pass through the clouds and seep through windows which can damage your skin and lead to premature ageing. Always apply sunscreen on your face, neck and hands daily to keep your skin protected. Of course, we recommend ours!
